Collecting Moonbeams in the Tucson Mountains

Moonrise with clouds in the Tucson Mountains

I was walking late this evening as the moon rose over Cat Mountain.  At first, it's bright white orb was all I could see.  Then, as the moon climbed higher in the sky, inky black cloud edges caught the silver moonbeams, making the invisible visible.  The beauty of the cloud structure was there all the time; I just couldn't see it.

There are lessons to be learned when we least expect to find them, if only we will stop quietly once in awhile to look up.  (Tuition is free.)

Beautiful as usual Mike.  Goodnight.

That same light was on outside the back of my home early yesterday morning.  It was so bright I thought I'd left the back spotlight on.

It was the moon shining brightly.

Beautiful. We all need to take more time to wonder at the moon and smell the roses. My husband hates full moons as he says the fish don't eat with a full moon.

Toula,

Thanks for commenting; I appreciate encouragement!

Laura,

I wouldn't know about the fish biting, I haven't had the pleasure of wetting a line since I moved to Arizona a decade ago.  :(

Lenn,

It certainly was bright!  I woke in the middle of the night and closed the blinds.

Rita,

Good morning!  Thanks for commenting before turning in!

Mike,

I tried this morning (early) to do this same sort of thing, I will know later today how the photos turned out.  Nice message too.

We had a moon here last night also but the the wind was plowing so hard it was difficult to stand outside to take a photo. Keep the great photos coming.

Wow Mike, love this shot, the revelation of the cloud under the moon's glow and your commentary. Brings to mind that even in life's darkest hours there is always light shining somewhere to lead the way.

I love the part about the tuition being free - life's lessons from God's handbook.

Enjoy the lessons today brings ;-)

At first I didn't see the clouds either, but then they appeared.  What a terrific shot.  The moon has been gorgeous lately, and you've captured it quite nicely :)
