~ Poppies and Lupine on the King Canyon Trail ~
Just opposite the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum is the trailhead for the King Canyon Trail. It's one of Tucson's easiest hikes, as the first mile of the upper trail follows an old mining road. The desert wildflowers can be seen in abundance right now.
Who can identify this one? I don't know what it is.
I've lived in the desert for the past 14 years, and every year brings a new discovery. I haven't been able to identify this plant. It has a reclining growth pattern, and the flower is about 1 1/4" across.
(Maybe you know what it is; please help me identify it.)

Good morning, Mike. Cool photos. I am surprised about the lupine. I would have thought it too hot for the bulb. As for the other flower, looks similar to a "TN Native" but that is about it...
WOW...your flowers are coming early this year! We have had some good rain in Central Texas so it should be a great year for wild flowers here too!
Mike what a great way to start off my Sunday with a view of your Arizona flowers. I love the cactus in the middle of the pack.
Jennifer,
I'm glad to oblige. :)
Russell,
April usually finds me driving through central Texas, and I sure enjoy your wildflowers.
Michael,
We have fields of lupine when the December rains have been generous. Thanks for being the first to comment.

Hi Mike,
Great pictures and I love poppies anyway as they are our state flower of California. Thanks for sharing.
Mike
This is a good time of the year to be in Tucson to see the wildflowers.
Good luck and success.

Hi Mike, I have no idea what that plant is but it is a creeping vine and may be related to the morning glories, desert style, :-) Great Photos!
Mike, if you are driving through Central Texas this April...Give me a call!
GOOD MORNING MIKE! I took some wildflower photos myself - and though not as pretty as your photos - I am convinced you can't take a bad photo of these gorgeous flowers!
Great photos Mike, we saw poppies and lupine this weekend but I don't know what the other flower is, besides lovely! Spring is HERE.
Mike The colors in Spring in the desert are always vibrant as you prove in your photo - can't help you with the second one, though
Lovely wildflower pictures, and that's very nice of you to share them. Are you on Pinterest yet? It's a great way of sharing your pictures too.
You always provide beautiful photos, my friend! Have a fantastic weekend!
Looking for more of your amazing floral photos........time to post some more, Mike, to feed my need!
Those are lovely, Mike. And, sorry, I don't know what the purple one is but it sure is pretty.
