Desert Oddity: Ironwood Gargoyle #3

Ironwood Gargoyle: Mike in Tucson, AZ mortgage lender

~ Ironwood Gargoyle #3 ~

Ironwood Gargoyle #3 looks like a prehistoric fish, with that big eye and upthrust jaw.  Like some prehistoric fossils, his head is twice as big as the rest of his body.

Fish Fossil: Tucson Gem & Mineral Show: Mike in Tucson, AZ mortgage lenderThis past February, I visited the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, and took a photo of a prehistoric fish fossil that came to mind when I saw Ironwood Gargoyle #3.

Just a minute while I try to find it on my cell phone and upload it to my computer...  Yep.  There he is!

Some of you will spend summer afternoons laying on the grass, looking up at the clouds and commentin on their fleeting shapes.

I'll spend the summer hiking the trails and washes of the Tucson Mountains, and I'll bring you photos of my finds.

Thanks for stopping by.

Mike, Great photos!  I missed 1 and 2 and had to go back and look at them.  Interesting shapes!

Good eye!!  LOL!  That gargoyle fish has some horns the fish fossil doesn't.

Barbara-Jo,

When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.

Doreen,

It took me twenty minutes to find that photo from the Gem Show, but I thought of it immediately when I saw this Ironwood root!
