Yeah? Well, You Look Sort Of Funny to Me!

Pima County Fair: Mike in Tucson, AZ mortgage lender

~ Looking Good! ~

Every year, I go to the Pima County Fair.  I've liked county fairs ever since my Grandpa took me to one in Onancock, Virginia when I was eight years old.  We (my cousin Jerry and I) ran around picking up grape soda bottles and turning them in for a nickel.  When we had enough money, we would pay for a ride or two.  I was looking for a "flapping chicken" photo this year.  This rooster didn't oblige by flapping, but he was certainly interested in my camera.  Just after I snapped this photo, he pecked the lens!

Mike, how many captions did you go through to get to that one?  Perfect for a great shot.

Talk about a "bird's eye" view!  Love the colors - it looks like a high-def bird!

Way fun Mike.  I used to manage a county fair in Vail Co......what a hoot that was. Not sure we ever had cool birds. Everything else but that!  I'll share a bird show with you ........soon! Way cool!

Mike - Careful, roosters can be mean! We used to have one that chased us around and would try to spur us. Little buggers can move.

When I go to the Wisconsin State Fair all these guys are there in full 'rooster fluffery'. They are actually kind of cute. I hate them though & they give me the creeps. When I was younger they would chase us around the barn with 'territory things' all the time.  We'd have to get a broom or hide behind a horse to fight them off.

What a great photo! It does indeed look as if he wants to make some sort of comment about your taking the photo!

Mike, Funny caption and he told you after the photo was taken.  I've only every been to one county fair way back.  Will have to go to another to get some photos.

That photo is awesome!

You are lucky he didn't break your lens...

Also, as stated above, they are mean, mean, mean.  A friend I worked with, lived in Marana, had chickens and a rooster.  One morning she came in and 'shared' a look at what the rooster did to her the night before when she got out of the car.  Pecked her shins and calf up really bad. That wasn't the first time it attacked her.

Mike, what a great photo - he definitely doesn't look happy to be "snapped at."  LOL.
