~ Gila Woodpecker on Ocotillo ~
Saguaro National Park West - Tucson, Arizona
Three things get my attention: Arizona, Hiking & Birding. Put all three together at the same time, and life can't get much better!
If you're looking for a home in Arizona, prices have not been this low for ten years. I just sent an Agent a Pre-Qual letter for a borrower who's offering full listing price ($80,000) for a bank owned property that sold for more than $165,000 just two and one half years ago.
The banks don't want to keep the houses, and you just might want to have a home within walking distance of a National Park! Call me to talk about getting prequalified. If you want me to refer a REALTOR I know and trust, I can do that too.

Mike, it somewhat resembles our woodpeckers, but the red is paler unless that is just the angle. Cool photo.
Ah Mike, You are making me homesick for my hometown. Miss the hikes in Saguaro and Sabino.
Howdy and evening to you Mike
Mike, I sure do like your photo of the Woodpecker! He kind of looks like, will do I want peck at this or not.

Mike, I would love to to get a chance to hike through Saguaro National Park someday. Until then I will enjoy seeing all your beautiful photos of the beautiful birds and scenery.
What a beautiful bird! I would also love to hike there someday. I went to my daughter's site for Wild Wednsday and came up with something totally different than what I was looking for (lol).
Mike, a beautiful photo of the bird..hiking is the best exercise.
Mike, that's one great looking bird. The one that's my alarm clock (knocks on all the tin fireplace chimneys first thing every morning, just had a little red spot at the top of his head.
Mike - another great wildlife picture, and I agree, hiking in your great desert might just be perfect this time of year.
Mike, that's a very nice photo. In my old house, we had woodpeckers with bright red crowns... cute but they pecked at our wood siding every morning and late afternoon. lol
Thanks for sharing, and Happy Easter!
I have hiked this park a few times in my life. Fantastic
Mike - I love woodpeckers! We have one that frequents our Live Oak trees and this guy is over a foot tall! I did not even know that woodpeckers could grow that large!
HI MIKE! We are on opposite ends of town - and so I visit Saguaro East regularly to ride and walk -- looks like I need to head west to check out one of your best spots to hike and look for these beautiful birds!
Mike, This bird looks like a relative of the red-bellied woodpecker. I can agree with you on two points: hiking and birding. I'm sure I'd add Arizona, but I have to visit there first!
Happy birding and hiking!
Gloria
Mike,
What a great capture of such a fine feathered friend! Arizona has a lot to offer and you're doing great promoting things to see and do.
Best wishes to you in your business and may you always have some reason to hike and explore exciting things to see and do in your beautiful neck of the woods!
