~ Scissortail ~
Marilyn Monroe Moment
The Scissortail is Oklahoma's State Bird. I caught this one's
"Marilyn Monroe Moment" and tailwind recovery
on the perimeter of a pasture on GlenMar Ranch in Caddo, Oklahoma.

Mike, Great job catching the action! Really nice!
Good catch! You can really see the scissor tail. Very clever title.

Margaret,
Thanks for stopping by. That title was just perfect, if I may be so bold. LOL

Tom,
Thanks for saying so! See you on your blog.
Lou,
That's true. You don't find them if you don't look for them.
Don,
I'm almost never without it.

Red underwear!! You don't think about birds being caught off guard like that. Maybe he was looking at something on the ground... ;-)
Hi, Mike! I don't think I've seen these birds before. They are very pretty, and how did you get them to sit still like that? :) I love the title, too!
Yo,
They don't stay in one place for long; they perch, look for an insect, and go get it!
Doreen,
It's real windy on the plains in Oklahoma. The three photos are a sequence, and you're right. In the first one, he's looking down. Then the MM Moment. Then he's looking like "you didn't really see that..." LOL

Mike, Great photos and title. I've never seen these birds other than in photos. Nice to know someone can see them in person.
Have a great holiday weekend.
