Plagiarism In Advertising: Kathryn Harper's Back Link Spam for EssaysService.com

Plagiarism in advertising: Kathryn Harper's Back Link Spam for essaysservice.com

essayservice.com: mike in tucson, mortgage lender

  1. essayservice.com: mike in tucson, mortgage lenderKathryn Harper most likely is not her real name.  English certainly is not her mother tongue. (Read the comment above.  Do it slowly, and read out loud.)
  2. ...and although she's spamming for a website that offers "top quality writing service," the spammer's comment on my blog gets a grade of "F" for the following:
  • content,
  • sentence structure,
  • grammatical coherency and
  • verb construction.

What's the plural of Thesis?

essayservice.com: mike in tucson, mortgage lenderI went to the website by clicking the live link in the spam comment.  Since the spammer has poor English writing skills, I wanted to see about the website itself.  I found what I expected.

Essaysservice.com provides THESISES.  Really?! Thee...sis...es?!  Three syllables?  Theses is the plural of thesis, and has only two syllables.

Two years before I was born, George Orwell wrote an essay titled "Politics and the English Language."  It's become a classic.  Orwell's essay posits that "the English language is in a bad way."  That was 1946.  Imagine what he would think today.

Conclusion:  If you're intent on getting a good grade, don't hire Essays Service!

Think about it.  If you're looking for help writing an essay or a term paper for your class, you're doing for one of two reasons.  Either it's because you don't have the best writing skills, or it's because your time constraints pretty tight.

Either way, it stands to reason that you want a good grade for your paper.  Am I right?

Okay, then.  You wouldn't want to pay anyone at essaysservice.com to help you.  No matter how bad your writing skills, I expect you'll get a better grade on your own than you will with these spamming idiots!

Mike - LOL. I'm surprised you even bothered to check out the site. But it was entertaining, wasn't it.I'd like to actually meet a spammer some day.

Mike,

I can't get my mind around half the spam I see.  Who would buy from the bozos?

Posted by Mike Jaquish, 919-880-2769 Cary, NC, Real Estate (Realty Arts) almost 9 years ago

Mike,

No one, if I can help it!  LOL

Jeff,

After I reported the spam, I re-read the comment, and the combination of poor English skills and a website selling a writing service for dissertations and theses made me want to see what was being offered.  Too funny.  I put enough links in this post to attract the attention of Google.  I expect that by tomorrow morning, Google will make me #1 in searches for this website.  :)

I also like the parts on the website that say "Your paper got your down?" and "20% discount of the first order." Wow. Some quality writing right there! Or maybe "some quality righting write their" is more fitting?

You'd think that someone in that network spoke English.  Clearly that isn't the case.  No doubt the promotion for this web site was farmed out to an SEO company who farmed it out to techs in a country where English is very rare.

They do guarantee that the product will be free of plagiarism.

I never can decide if I am more amused or irritated by these spam comments - & they sure pop up frequently!  But yes, if the comments and their website are meant to showcase their skills - well I guess I will pass & muddle along with my own "papers creating".  LOL

Let's see if I understand this correctly.  You think they are a lousy site, but you are avidly promoting them with links.  Either you are complicit in their activity or else your have been co-opted.

I highly recommend you remove the links to their site... unless in fact it is really your alter-ego site.

You should nofollow those links in your blog article Mike.  You are giving them what they are spamming us for,- backlinks.

I get those essay and term paper spam comments all too often.  Really annoying.

I would wager dollars to donuts that she simply typed what she wanted to say in an online translating service, like Babelfish, and the resulting translation mutilated the outcome. I've done it myself when talking to friends overseas when I wanted to say something in their language. Many times they they write back and ask what I was trying to say because the translator beat it up so bad.

Regardless of the spamming issue, the lack of english skills issue and the fact that they are targeting a real estate audience...is no one else upset by the fact that there is now and entire industry built (and clearly profitable) doing the work students are supposed to be doing?  I remember numerous "all nighters" finishing term papers and project summaries while in college.  I also remember hating it at the time, but many years later realizing I had the ability to form "my own thoughts, conclusions, etc" and communicate them effectively.

It would appear we are now creating a student who can't think, write or summarize for themselves but they can certainly Google a term paper.  Hmmmm, as an employer would I want to hire the search engine expert or the person who can actually create an original thought?????

Ironic, that there is a spam comment (#26).  I just reported.

This is really funny and sad at the same time.  Their writing skills are atrocious.  Glad that the comments are no follow links so it won't give them google juice.  Hopefully, you changed the links in your post to be no-follow; otherwise you are actually helping them.

This is funny Mike.  What is even funnier is that they are in business and probably have clients who need and use their services.  It is actually a russian mob that has some students here in the US who owe them money.  They are paying off their gammbing debts by writing thesises and such.  hehe.

Hi Mike -- Their graphic designers look like they do a pretty good job, but a pretty picture won't buy you much in terms of the end result.  So sad.  I have increased my writing skills over the past 20 years and it's never too late to improve.  I still learn things every day.  I wonder what ol' George would think of:

I, like yesterday, went to the movies, and like it was totally awesome, like it was way funny.

All,

Thanks for your comments!  If #26 with the UGG boots spam had actually added a comment, I wouldn't have deleted him/her.

@6, @21, and @29 ~ Our IT guy is former (are they allowed to quit?) Mossad, and I don't worry about my computer "blowing up."

@13, I created the links purposefully.  @17 figured it out, and my dastardly plan is working...

@20, LOL!

@24, I do have some thoughts on the subject.  I regularly report spammers, and more often than not get 10 points in my AR treasure trove for my effort.  I'll bet if you go back in your "POINTS Summary" you'll find that you did as well.  Keep reporting spam to AR.

@34, like, cool!

I can't stand improper grammar. It makes someone who's actually very successful seem unintelligent. My advice would be to PROOF anything and everything going out with your name attached. Even the best assistant can make an error that will cost you business.

Mike,

You don't get it.

It is most likely a sites owner from India or Pakistan who use Xrumer or Scrapebox to insert thousands of reply to posts with a link in there as their site or affiliate. They just build backlinks for better PR.

Those response even use token to spin sentences, making nonsense replies. It's just for backlinks.

Once you spot those, you may just get them into your spam box...
