Glass Art: Little Things Stand Out In a Tight Economy

Art in glass: Mike in Tucson, Mortgage LenderGlass Art: Mike in Tucson, Mortgage LenderWhile both businesses and individuals are cutting back on expenditures in this tight economy, some architects and builders wow their clients with beautiful touches like this glass sconce on the left, and the lighting on the right.

Artwork of any kind brings joy to the human soul.

I particularly like glass work because of the way it interplays with the light in a room.

You may have seen these pieces of glass art in a favorite restaurant.

Who can identify the national restaurant chain?

I love glass art & watching glass blowing as well!  I recognize them, but I can't place them for sure...

Great photos, and I can see that they would make a great impact on a four season porch or deck.  Nice.

Great pictures! Like Don's comment, I am a fan of glass art & glass blowing... I've gone to plants and watched glass makers from Dearborn, Michigan to West Virginia to Venezuela.

Those are pretty remarkable! This takes me back to Williamsburg, VA where I watched glass blowers turn glass into art. How I wish I could do that!

Thanks for sharing and what a nice think restaurants are doing for their customers to enjoy. No, I can't say I know where the national restaurant chain is located.

P.S. When I tried to google to find out the answer to your question, your blog came up first!

I give up!  Where are they?

Beautiful pieces of decor - blown glass is so much fun to look at, it changes with the light and surroundings.

Hi Mike, are these sconces found at the Claim Jumpers?

Will you be joining Stacey for Thanksgiving in Sun City?

I too like glass art. I need to get out to see the Chichuy exhibit at Cheekwood this week. They will be taking it down early next month...

Wow - incredible!  I'm trying to stretch my brain to figure out where these are but it just isn't coming.  A national chain?  No clue at all.

Mike - those are very pretty - where did you find them?  I remember seeing the first of those a few years back and thinking - how refreshing.  They've come a long way since then.

GOOD MORNING MIKE!  Well I don't eat out much at all so I would not have guessed this correctly!  The glass art is something! -- Gab

The sconces are beautiful and thanks for sharing the Cheesecake Factory is where you found them. Otherwise, we would all have to come to Tucson and force you to tell!
