Longboat Key Angel in Sarasota, FL

Angel in Longboat Key: Mike in Tucson

~ Longboat Key Angel ~

Longboat Key, Sarasota, Florida

Serendipity!  If you'll take enough pictures, you'll get some great ones.  This photo, taken this morning in Longboat Key, Sarasota on the Gulf of Mexico, is proof of that.  These shorebirds were enjoying the morning and so was I.  Sitting on the beach, I took photo after photo of the birds flying in and landing with the rest of the clan.  I didn't know I had this shot until I uploaded them to the computer.

Mike, what a "lucky" shot, it is so clear and well captured of the action!

Mike, What a GREAT CATCH!  We just got back from Panama City Beach!  I hope your weather is as good as ours was.  Although I have to be honest our Spring TX weather is pretty darn good right now!

So interesting that they have different bill colors.  The flying one looks like he caught some wind.

I didn't notice the bill color until I saw your comment, Juli.  It looks like the dark ones are on smaller birds.  Wonder if it has to do with maturity??

Nice shot Mike!

Good morning Mike. Great shot. I can remember when Long Boat Key was wilderness. And you are right about shooting "en masse". One will stand out from the rest...

If you'll take enough pictures, you'll get some great ones. You certainly got a great one. Now I want to know more about the colored bills.(Thanks to Juli and Doreen's comment)

Is it male/female? Is it age? Expecting a post from someone on this subject.

Fooled me.  I've fished in the Florida Keys and the "Angel" I remember was an "ANGLE FISH".

Then I see a bird who believes that he is one.

This is one fabulour photo.

This is a GREAT photo! I really, really like it a lot. I frequently snap, snap, snap and I don't know what I got until I go back and look at them. It's wonderful to see that one shot that sets them all apart.

Longboat Keys is a beautiful slice of Heaven here on earth and you got a some great angel wings!
