Mike - I'm going to venture that those are the reclamation ponds just west of Sandario Road.

Hmmmm, my mom never showed me any water whenever I've visited her, so I have now idea.

Right you are.  I kept driving west, past these "ponds" and found the Cocoraque Ranch.  I hadn't been there for three years.  Need to go again.
