Just Your Ordinary Backyard Scene on a Tucson Summer Evening...

Just your ordinary backyard view on a Tucson summer evening: Mike in Tucson

The Mexican White Winged Doves sitting atop the Saguaro are taking in the beauty of a an ordinary summer evening.  Ordinary, that is, for Tucson, Arizona.  Daytime highs in excess of 100 degrees get the press around the country.  What they don't tell you in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Sacramento or Chicago is that the humidity tops out at 45 percent, and the evenings are comfortable and bug-free.

No mosquitoes, no black flies, no horseflies.  The only screened-in porches in Tucson were built by snowbirds who had no idea that screens aren't a necessary part of outdoor living here in the Old Pueblo.

I took this photo in the community of Shadow Hills while visiting a friend last night.  The view, though, was pretty much the same all over the Tucson valley.

What a gorgeous picture Mike! It looks like it belongs on a postcard!

Here in Houston, we're having triple digit temperatures!  The evenings are in the 80's!

Hi Mike!
That is a wonderful view to enjoy each night! Actually, here is Sacramento, we also revel in the fact that we have essentially no humidity...we brag about our "dry" heat.  From what I have heard, our weather is very similar, except yours is hotter!

I love the evening when the heat produces the huge thunder head clouds that sometimes bring a little rain. I noticed the Mexican White Wings and have to tell you we have several huge flock living in the valley behind our home. I always enjoy their calls in early morning and later in the evening

OK, you've got me wondering about the bug thing.  What did you do with them?  They were there when I lived in Tucson.  ;-)

Mike, if that urge to hang up mortgage lending strikes, you have a career as a photographer ahead of you.
