There's More To Life Than Work & Dollars: My Lost Pelikan Pen

Mike in Tucson: poetryWho carries a fountain pen anymore?

I lost this one somewhere in California on a business trip.  I miss it; it was my favorite pen.

Words bounce around in my head, and sometimes come together as a poem.  When that happens, it's magical.  I don't know any other word to describe the feeling when the thoughts take form in words, and flow across the page.

The Active Rain group POETS is one that I haven't frequented often enough, and I intend to correct that starting with this post.

I will keep my eyes out for your pen, Mike.  I can only hope that someone worthy of it found it.

Mike, did you write the poem before or after the pen? I like it! I'll look for more in that group.

Teral,

I wrote that poem in 1995, I think, and lost the pen on a business trip some eight or nine years later.

Jane,

Thanks for being the first to comment!

Oh no!  I know how you feel, I hate it when I lose a favorite pen.  It's almost like a pet.

Oh -- that is sad -- I had a favorite pen and lost it years ago also -- and it is with such fondness I remember it.

Carolin,

Isn't it something how we become attached to writing instruments?

David,

Ditto my comment to the Benjamin team!  (Carolin's the blogger)  I never did replace that pen, although I have many others.

and now we know it.

sorry, couldn't help it...

I finally had to give up writing with that type of pen because I tend to stop and think and hold the pen right there on the paper where I stopped...  ink blots!

Mike...

A good pen is like a good friend.......when you need them, they are their till the end........I actually have different colors pens to match my clothes. You would be surprised at how many people have commented on that. Very noticeable. Take heart....Mike, someone is in bliss right now using your old faithful......

Best,

janeAnne,

Seems like poetry comes in fits and spurts, like an old engine trying to start after a long time.  I'll give it a whirl!

Richie,

Now that's a sad thought, someone using my pen...

Doreen,

You could have if you had tried...  LOL
