I bought a new camera on Saturday. Sunday evening, west of Three Points, Arizona, and halfway to Ajo, I found some beautiful flowers by the roadside. We've had a lot of rain since the first of the year (over five inches, and we only get 12" for an entire year on average.)
Thanks for stopping by. I knew you would like this one.

Very nice color! I bet the desert will be a blooming with all the rain!
Great shot Mike. My wife keeps telling me we've got to visit Arizona in the early Spring, and now I see why.
Gary,
She's a smart lady. Better listen up! LOL
Kris,
Thanks for jumping in and being the first to comment! You win that bet!

It is true the desert is a beautiful place after the rains.
Do I win a prize if I say foxgloves? Beautiful color.
Very beautiful shot of the flowers and the color is magnificent.
Mike, great photo! Wonderful colors, thanks for sharing them with us!
Happy Spring Mike. We aren't as far along as you are.
Hi Mike, Stunning photo Mike. What kind of Camera did you get.
Hi Susie, I haven't seen you on in a while, Oops, Sorry Mike, Susie is one great photographer. She had done a collection of flowers that is nothing short of awesome. I suggested she publish a book.
Very pretty. What kind of flower is this, I'm not sure I've seen it here. What elevation?
Mike, I heard that the desert has gotten a lot of rain. From what I hear, it is supposed to be a spectacular year for flowers...
Michael,
That we have! This photo was taken near the base of Kitt Peak, west of Tucson, and while that area is not spectacular this year, other areas like Reddington Pass are much better. Google "Desert Wildflower Report Tucson."
Doreen,
Lupinus sparsiflorus
Mojave Lupine, Coulter's Lupine. Elevation guess? 3400'
William,
Newest version of the same Panasonic Lumix, paid $139. plus tax at Costco. Original price was $189. but this was the last one, and the floor model. The aperature is big to gather a lot of light, and the software is much advanced over my previous Lumix. Same Leica glass. Speed is much faster. My old Lumix had 1/8th of a second, while the new one has 1/250th of a second. I'm still figuring it out.
Susie,
William's right. You ought to publish a book. I'll buy one!
Tony & Darcy,
Thanks! It's good to see you.
Tim,
Thanks for saying so!
Jane,
They're Lupine, but you win a prize anyhow just for showing up and commenting! LOL
KW Elite,
That it is! Thanks for commenting.

Hi Mike, I love the color of the flowers and wouldn't have guessed Lupine. It looks like you purchased a good camera, it's a beautiful shot!

Eye popping photograph, Mike! Stunning! Congrats on your new camera :)
Debi
Hi Mike,
These are absolutely spectacular, the color is amazing. I spend a little time in the So Cal desert area myself and this year (thanks to El Nino) the colors are dramatic.
Lynda,
I'll be over to your blog to check it out.
Debi,

It might just be time for a visit!

Dagny,
You're welcome!
Bill,
I tried to show someone the benefits of AR yesterday, and had to quit in the middle because of "proxy errors and bad gateways." Thanks for commenting.
Dorie,
I'll have to go check out her blog!

Mike - when I see photos like this it reminds me of my years in Europe - most of those flowers are not able to survive here in Florida - thanks!
Hello Mike and another wonderful photo and we have some of these wild flowers like this in Nevada.
Vegas Bob
Vegas Bob,
Isn't it amazing what will grow in the desert after a little rain?
BarbaraJo,
We want to see a blog post about your years in Europe!
