Special thanks to Elaine Carmack, Maureen McCabe, and Kim Dillon for asking how I automated the process of exporting my blog post on Active Rain to my outside social media outlets. (Elaine, I couldn't find you in AR, or I would have linked to you, too.)
A picture is worth 1,000 words, so there it is. One caveat: Only the posts linked in Active Rain to your Active Rain Outside Blog will be exported. At least, that's the way it works for me. That's cool, too, because when I publish "Members Only," I don't want it published to Facebook, Plaxo, LinkedIn, etc.
Here's what the exported post looks like on Facebook (different post):

Great tutorial Mike!
I'm dense. I don't get it but I will work on this tomorrow. It's a file. hmmmm or is it a feed? Export would be a feed...
Are you exporting to a page on Facebook or your proflie?
Thanks Mike!
Maureen,
Exporting to my wall on Facebook. Click the Facebook post to check it out.

interesting.. i have mine goint to Twitter first.. and then from Twitter to Facebook.. again, only the public posts go.. the members only ones do not.
Alright, this will now make life a lot easier. I haven't been giving Facebook much time since I got focused on AR, now I can do both more effectively. Thanks for the outstanding tip!
Dan,
You're welcome!
Darren,
I'll come find you on Facebook; thanks for commenting.

HI Mike,
I have mine going to Twitter and Facebook. I haven't tried or thought about having them go to Linked in and I'm unfamiliar with Plaxo. I will have to check out those two for feeds.
Thanks for sharing.
Judi,
You're welcome! I have yet to Twitter.

I must've missed when they started doing that. I knew you could export to twitter. Thanks!
Thank you Mike. I'm going to try it now. Sometimes I'm a bit dense on this, so I may be contacting you again!!
ThanksMike.. Your always sharing I really appreciate it. whenever I get a chance to post on active rain it does also show up on facebook and twitter too,,,,, I have to check if it also goes to linked and Plaxo... I'm not familiar with Plaxo but I will look into it....
P.S I love your profile pic...
Mike, I have my AR posts going to Twitter because Twitter is for broadcasts. I try to put more thought into my FB posts and I'm concerned about putting too much stuff up on FB that my Friends might not be interested in, same for my Fan pages. With all the social media channels, I get a headache if I try to write a post taking into account the different target audiences on Twitter, FB, Linked In, etc. Maybe my life is just too complicated for social media. LOL
This will be but one of the topics over lunch on Tuesday! Looking forward to it. Suzanne is programming the tom tom !
Thanks for the tips Mike. Anything to streamline my time is always helpful.
Gary,
You're welcome! Thanks for stopping by.
Tony,
I'm looking forward to your visit!
Gail,
That's an interesting thought. Different social media, different audience. Sounds like a blog post topic.
Donna,
Thanks for your kind words!
Melissa,
You'll figure it out. Check out Brad Andersohn's site.

Bookmarked. Great information. Now, when I find the time.....
You did a great job here. Thanks for all your hard work.
Looks like a quick solution to help us build content on other social sites. Thanks for the tip, Mike!
Um Mike that works for me and I will follow your lead, thanks for sharing.
Hi Mike...good tips on both of your posts; I like the idea of copying the images/maps to Power Point and dressing it up. Why have I not think about it, LOL...Also I like your Avatar, did you really make it by yourself? How did you make the signature?
With smiles,
Bo in Yukon
Thanks for the tip.
