Hiking Sabino Canyon In Tucson, AZ: A View Through The Clouds

View of the Rincon Mountain valley from somewhere near Sabino Canyon

Clouds from this week's major winter storm hung low over the valley at the foot of the Rincon Mountains to the east of the city of Tucson.  I was hiking somewhere near Sabino Canyon when the clouds parted, allowing me to see the valley floor below.

I thought you might like to share the view.  Notice the bird sitting atop the saguaro in the center of the photo; he posed just long enough for me to capture his portrait.

Great scene. We don't have much fog to lift but I'm ready for the snow to go away.

Mike - It looks a little cold in these shots. maybe it's just my imagination. I'm ready for warm weather.

It was in the 60s when I took the photo, but the high the past 48 hours has been only 57.  Today promises to be warmer.

Actually, I don't have one framed photo of mine at the house except for pics of the grandkids.  Go figure!

You're welcome!

It's good to see you; thanks for stopping by!

Terry & Bonnie,

I know you are!  Thanks for being the first to comment.

Hi Mike,

Those clouds look ominous. Expecting that your rains were as about intense as ours. The sun is now shining brightly again. I  am delighted we have had some rain and I expect through the winter months we will have lots more. Should be a stunning spring. The desert blooms in the Spring so we are all expecting to see some vibrant desert flowers soon. The pop out rather quickly I understand.

March is the month for the flowers in our part of the desert; you can be sure I'll take some photos and blog!

Actually, I was too cold to hike this weekend; it was in the 50s.

We're looking forward to your visit!

Thanks for stopping by!

The desert certainly offers it's own beauty - can't wait to see the flowers in March!

That's an interesting thought.  Might give it a try.

The clouds were right on top of me, but we didn't have thunder that day.

March will be beautiful, no doubt.  We have another storm moving in tonight from California.

It rained again today!  We've had 2" so far this year, and the March / April wildflowers should be spectacular!
