Genesis Updated: Arizona's Version of Moses' Burning Bush

Arizona's version of Moses' burning bush

Remember Sunday School?  The story of Moses and the burning bush?  That's what I thought of immediately when I topped a rise in the Ironwood National Monument with my Ford Explorer, and saw this panorama.

I had to pull off the dirt track and capture it in a photo.

That's Ragged Top Mountain on the horizon, with majestic saguaros in the midground.  I gave a moment's thought to lightening up the foreground and show you the saguaros as more than dark shadows, but doing so would have taken away the burning bush effect.

I hope you like it.

Mike, God does some INCREDIBLE work!  That's not just the bush but the entire sky with the bush.

Teri,

We get some white from time to time down here on the desert floor, but not very often.

Terry & Bonnie,

It sure does; is it time for a winter getaway vacation?

Jane,

Thanks for coming by to comment; there's no sunset like an Arizona sunset.

Robert,

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw this sunset.

Tammy,

Thanks!  I sure enjoy doing it.

Carol,

We'd be delighted!

Marchel,

Ain't it the truth!  Thanks for being the first to comment.

Mike that looks like the entire sky is on fire and very beautiful indeed.  Ragged Top Mountain has a great profile against that gorgeous sky!

Thank you for the AZ sunset picture. Your pictures are the first thing I look for every morning. No need for a New Year's Resolution to get rid of this addiction, though.

Rita,

He does that on a regular basis!  Thanks for commenting.

Doreen,

I got lost in the desert that night when I followed a track that crossed the road I wanted to take out.  I missed noticing the crossing, and it cost me 1/2 hour of wandering.  Just like Moses, only not 40 years.  LOL

Russell,

I certainly am!  Thanks for stopping by.
