I don't know that I've ever been moved to post for Speechless Sunday. Sometimes, though, there truly is nothing to say...

Mike, that is very cute. You should add it to the Speechless Sunday group!
Marchel,
Done! Thanks for being the first to comment.

I read a really great book about The Appalachian Trial called A walk in the woods by Bill Bryson. It was fantastic.
Todd,
I'll check it out. Thanks!

Hello??? I said the Argentinian Trail Honey. My staff was confused.
One thing is for sure Mike, you never pass up the opportunity to take a GREAT picture. Jus' didn't kno that them thar birds could talk. ;-)
GOOD MORNING MIKE! I'm glad you posted a speechless Sunday - many of your photos don't even need a caption because they are so beautiful. This one is cute - one baby looks like it is full of energy - the other like it's had enough already! -- Gab
What a great place to visit and hike!
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
Mike - I love those hawks! I've never seen any with so much color though! Absolutely fantastic photos! Thanks for sharing!!!
Lee & Pamela,
Turns out they're Red Tails, although they're not like any I'm used to from South Carolina or Georgia!
Hey there, Charles,
It's good to see you; thanks for stopping by to comment!
Gabrielle,
Thanks for the encouragement, young lady!
Don,
Neither did the Senator from my home state of SC. LOL
Susie,
OH... That's what you meant... :)
Michael,
I had a great time photographing this pair.

Hi Mike,
I think you got a winner on this one.
Connie Lou
I have always thought hawks and eagles were very cool. Our Red Tailed Hawks here are quite abundant but I don't ever remember getting this close to any of them.
Terry,
I have a 10X optical zoom on my Panasonic Lumix. Still, I was able to approach closer than I have with any other bird of prey (with one exception--a hawk that had caught and was eating a dove in my backyard allowed me to approach slowly to within 20 feet.)
Connie Lou,
Thanks! I'll see you on your blog.

Gee Mike - I saw the "Babes on Santa Rita Golf Course" title & thought the demographics had changed! Still like the photo though ;)
Mike, they look huge, I would never have guessed that was a picture of babies, what a great shot.
Joanne,
They're this spring's fledglings. They can fly, but they spend a lot of time napping, like the one on the right.
Kent,
Babies... LOL

Between this story (a whole new meaning to hiking on the Appalachian Trail) and Michael Jackson (and I even was a fan, of sorts -- at least I liked the Thriller album when it came out), one would think there is nothing else going on in the world. Buried 35 minutes into tonight's CNN 360 "news" was a story that there is a major offensive going on in Afganistan.... oh well, I don't mean to hijack your blog, but the quotation set me off.
Howdy there Mike
I don't believe them two ever made it to The Appalachian Trail. At less not the parts that I've been on. lol
Dale,
I believe you're right! LOL
Ann,
Hijack away! :)
I'm in agreement with your comment!
