My Darlin' looked at the photo above and commented that it looks like a Kangaroo! Nope. I'm taking photos with my old camera, and it's slooow...
The temperature this afternoon topped 105 degrees down in the Tucson basin, and was close to 100 here on the slope of Golden Gate Mountain. The doe knew where she could get a long, cool drink.
I opened the slider in the kitchen four inches, and the doe ignored me. She just kept drinking that cool, clear water! Emboldened, I opened the door a little wider and stepped out on the ramada. She twitched one ear toward me, and I got a close-up. Then she bolted!
Our little community of Tucson Estates 2 snuggles right up on Tucson Mountain Park, which in turn abuts Saguaro National Park West.
The surrounding Tucson Mountains drain through washes, or arroyos, that run through our community. These washes are highways for the wildlife that grace us with their presence on a regular basis.
